Progesterone Level - 21 day bloods

Sep 11th, 2015, 18:20 PM   #1

I just picked up my 21 day blood results and my progesterone level is 76.1 - which Google tells me is really high! I got a BFN yesterday & have been fairly heavily spotting all day (I'm 11dpo I think)..... I feel like is on her way to be honest, bad lower back pain & cramps.

Just wondered if anyone else got a high result and knew what it means (other than I am definitely ovulating!) thx

That is very high! Have you had any ovulation support or anything? It may be that you have ovulated more than 1 egg, the progesterone from the multiple follicles would give you a high test result xx

No nothing like that unicorn! I know I ovulated from my right side as I had a scan last week. They also picked up a small cyst on that ovary - could that be anything to do with it do you think?

Google mostly suggests pregnancy with a result like that but I have absolutely no obvious symptoms... definitely feel more like is very nearly here!

I can't see any reason why the cyst would make any difference! Pregnancy is definitely a possibility, I really hope so xx

Blimey! That would be so odd as I've really felt nothing whatsoever this month & had totally ruled it out. I just did a pg test & an opk and both are very clear negatives.... I guess it isn't over until the arrives after all!

The last times I was tested I got 220, 190 and 160 (I think). Stupidly high, and apparently I released at least two eggs a go. Obviously it didn't end in a pregnancy, so I don't think you can go by progesterone test results. When is AF due? xx

Wowsers! They are some crazy levels kitty! Was that on clomid or naturally?

Period is due tomorrow or Sunday - so should know for sure very soon. I am very skeptical that this is pg related to be honest. I wonder what the high levels indicate if I'm not pg?

On clomid - I'll be interested to see what they level out like in a couple of months. Perhaps two eggs as well? I'm pretty sure it's higher the more you release (hence my crazy levels).
How are you feeling? Anything different than the norm - do you usually spot before AF? xx

I never used to spot before af - it started quite recently & that's why I went to the GP in the end, as it kept happening a few cycles in a row and is a new thing for me. I kept reading it means a hormonal imbalance - caused by low progesterone - so these results were a shock to be fair.

I have endometriosis & fibroids too - both supposed to be related to low progesterone - so another reason for my shock at this result.

Other than my usual endo pain before my period I have zero other symptoms. So I'm more inclined to think this is just hormonal messed-up-ness than pregnancy related.

I am seeing a gynae on Thurs - to discuss some ultrascan results - so will get to ask him if they indicate anything if I'm not pregnant.
