Demaris: I only have mine as Alexander ended up in the Sick Kids hospital in Edinburgh and the shop that does it was round the corner. It was somewhere nice to escape to when the shit was too much. If I hadn't had it done for him, I wouldn't be getting the same done for number two. Xx

Demaris, oh I'm glad you said this, as I'm feeling the same way, but thought maybe I'm overthinking this. But it's good to know that I'm not alone! My oldest doesn't have an imprint as it went mouldy. So I hope he won't be upset that his younger brother has it and he doesn't?

That was actually pretty much the only reason why I bought a scan picture for my second. I don't like scan pictures much, I think they just look creepy (sorry just my personal opinion), so I wasn't going to bother, but then I thought that it's unfair that the oldest has a picture and the youngest won't... So I bought it for that reason.

Maybe I should do an ink footprint for this one as I did for the oldest one, so it's all fair

x

Its surprising at how often they can go through stages and think one is treated better than the other, all part of having more than one I guess!

My friend gave us a kit at my babyshower, it's a blank canvas with pink & blue paint & a paintbrush, I think she bought it from mothercare.

Anyone buying hand/foot print or mould sets?

Hello Ladies!

I shouldn't really be here but iv been snooping lol! I'm an October 2014 mummy, my LG was born on 1st October

I bought a casting kit off eBay, it was on sale at the time for 38...originally 40 something, they also have a website, I will post the link at the end!

I got exactly the same results for 38 that mothercare charge 245 for!! Buzzing with my bargain, it was a bit tricky at first but once we got the hang of it it wasn't too bad, there were a few tears from baby but nothing too dramatic and it was well worth it, everyone admires the castings and I think they will be lovely for her to look at when she's older! We even had some spare materials left over so were able to do a foot each for the grandparents too!

Here is how they turned out

http://babyrice.co.uk

While I'm on the topic, last night I finished some imprints I did at Christmas for Christmas tree decorations! We used salt dough for the imprints and then just painted with acrylic paint... I still have to varnish them to seal them, they are inexpensive and easy to do so it's another option, you obv don't have to do the Christmas design.

I have well and truly caught the craft bug so my next plan is to do this for DH for valentines day from Pippa...

Sorry for the essay but I just had to share for anyone thinking of this but doesn't want to spend hundreds of pounds...it's possible!!

Good luck for your births xxx
