Hope you are feeling a bit better after your appointment yesterday L_A?

Well done Chloe!

I wonder how Charlie is getting on? Little lady must be well here by now.

I've had a horrid morning (in the context of someone who hasn't set foot outside the house )

My cupcakes sunk and I had to bin the lot... Before having a bath I tried to tidy up my lady garden and it was a disaster.... cue a phone call in tears to OH about flat cakes and needing him to trim my lady parts later...

I've not felt hormonal much throughout the whole pregnancy but my God am I feeling it today!

xxxxxxxx

That was me last weekend...everything upsetting! I'm past it now but I think oh is starting to get worried, my call from hospital, saying they were sending me to triage didn't help!! Nothing to report there, had high bp and was being seen by a different mw.
I'm not happy with how she treated me, forgot to ask if i minded having a student in, she barely listened to babies hb infact didn't even write it down and put "suffers from white coat syndrome" in my notes! triage was great though and it meant I got a sneaky view of ward!

Big hugs, let the hormone wave pass....

I had the whole BP thing last week hun!

Got sent to special ward and bub was hooked up to a trace.

All was fine when I went back yesterday?

I do actuallly suffer from white coat hypertension though. My BP shoots up at my appointments but is fine at home.

xxxxxx

Yes thanks Carnat. I had coffee with my first mummy friend from the village (someone I met at antenatal classes) this morning. She is a 2nd time mum, due next week, and was so reassuring. I think I just felt wrong footed by the implication that everything is outside my control and I couldnt trust my own decisions. I realise that some things will always be down to luck (I can't tell the baby what to do!), but I can still make the choices that seem right to me and pave the way the best I can.

I know how the hormonal thing is though, things upset me that never normally would. I wonder what went wrong with your cupcakes? What recipe are you using? I really like the hummingbird bakery and the primrose bakery books. Sometimes cupcakes do sink a little in the middle after you take them out, but you cover that with the icing. Did they taste bad?

Well done chloenat on your results. I'm a bit over emotional today, and stuck with a horrible cold thing so feel all stuffy and tired. Urgh. Plus getting a little down as no signs of LO wanting to come out, not even Braxton hicks. But all is good, just struggling being patient. X

Moodia, I don't think I've ever had the baby's hb written down, in fact I don't think I've ever seen them time it. They're just interested in a ballpark range, and the sound/rhythm of it is important too, more than the number.

Did the student take your BP? If so, I wonder if that's why it was high. At my last midwife appt she had a student take my BP and it was the highest it has been. I'm fairly sure she read it wring, because as a nurse who takes BP regularly I have a fair idea from the feel in my arm where the reading is kicking in. I didnt say anything, because it wasn't outside of the normal range and nobody was concerned.

Hehe Nat your post made me chuckle! Only because I have also tried to sort out the lady garden and it ended up worse than when I started! Poor OH really doesn't want to do it so I think I might just give up! Even some Veet doesn't do the trick! It's a shame about your cakes, I'd have eaten them anyway

Had a busy day drove upto mums to collect our crib and had lunch with her came home, had a 20minute turn around then back out for a leaving do and I'm just in! Back aches and ankles are A bit swollen but I think that's cos I've been on the go all day looking forward to bed!

Got the in laws visiting us this weekend! really just wanted to chill, hey ho! Back at mw tomorrow so hoping my BP has come down!

x

I have never everrr got hummingbird bakery recipes to work for me, I just keep the book around because I like the pictures :P in fact every time I make biscuits or sweets they turn out amazing, but cupcakes seem to be my worst enemy... I swear by those Betty Crocker "just add an egg" boxes now, goes right every time and I never tell anyone!! They just think I'm an amazing cook! Hahahaha
