*calling all women in the third trimester of pregnancy*

May 7th, 2018, 12:20 PM   #1
Hello everyone, congratulations on your pregnancies! My Name is Lyndsay McLellan and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Stirling. As part of my Health Psychology MSc degree I am conducting some research for my dissertation surrounding the health effects of Mindfulness-based activities during pregnancy on expectations and experiences of childbirth.

I am looking for female participants over the age of 18, who are in their third trimester of pregnancy, and who are expecting their first child to take part in an online questionnaire. I am looking for women who have engaged in mindfulness-based activities such as mindfulness-based stress reduction, yoga, pregnancy relaxation classes, hypnobirthing or other mindfulness-based activities as well as those who have not engaged in these during pregnancy.

This is an exciting, developing, area of research which will add a great contribution to research regarding health during pregnancy and during birth for both mothers and babies. I would be so very grateful for your participation.

If you agree to participate in the study, you will be asked to complete one questionnaire in the third trimester of pregnancy and one questionnaire 4 weeks after your due date. Each questionnaire should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. You will be free to withdraw from the study at any stage without justification.

Additionally, if you know of anyone, or have any friends who meet the criteria for this research or if you are a member of any mums and babies groups and wouldn't mind sharing this post I would be extremely grateful as this will allow me to collect the large amounts of data required.
Please note that you will not be identifiable from any information that you give and all data will remain anonymous.

This study has gained ethical approval from the University of Stirling Psychological research committee.

If you would like to participate please reply to this thread and I will send you the link to a page which contains more information about the study. From there you will be able to sign a consent sheet and begin the questionnaire.
Thank you in advance! Lyndsay

Hello lyndsaymcl

Hello All.
Dearbump is a pregnancy subscription box delivering monthly bundles of products designed for your stage of pregnancy.

The idea behind Dearbump was conceived in 2017, by two mums whilst discussing their pregnancies realised that whilst there are hundreds of products for babies, there was not much out there for us mums. Finding information and products for pregnancy is hard. We didn’t know where to look to find products when we were pregnant and there wasn’t much choice in supermarkets.
The idea was born. A monthly subscription box which can be delivered to mums to be throughout their pregnancy. Dearbump is somewhere you can go to find a range of products specific to pregnancy which have been tested and selected for your stage of pregnancy.
