Big belly with nothing to wear!

So Hubby and I are going out tonight to celebrate our anniversary and basically have nothing to wear. I haven't spent much on maternity clothes but borrowed loads as didn't want to waste money(my last pregnancy you see). The nice clothes I have have all been worn on previous nights out whilst pregnant. So ended up going for a dress that isn't maternity but quite floaty. Hope it doesn't blow up showing my not so nice maternity knick knacks!

Any one else struggling to find nice things to wear for going out?

I've also not bought many maternity clothes, but I did buy 4 cheap dresses from the ASOS sale. I've been wearing these in rotation for every occasion (we go to a lot of parties and nice outings :)). I figured people won't expect me to have a very varied maternity wardrobe!

I've bought a stretchy larger dress and it fit my bump a treat. Maybe because I am pear shaped adn the apple shaped clothes fit now. I dont know LOl. Sometimes u can get away with as tretchy slightly larger size dress and it still looks lovely. Otherwise you could always find a long top and tie your jeans or trousers with a string so they are still free and hidden but wearable.

My best dress was stretchy maxi (non-maternity) last time but i was heavily pg over the summer.
This time.fx i.will be heavily PG over the cold period so have no.idea

I've my leaving night on friday and a wedding in 2 weeks-will be wearing the same dress to both. I found it last month in the mothercare sale-its gorgeous, black wrap over with beads at side and on the shoulders. I actually can't wait to wear it and hope it still fits?!!!

However-day to day I'm starting to get fed up of my wardrobe. I seem to live in pjs for comfort and just Don't feel attractive when I have to go out. What I do have is more for nicer weather-this summer has been crap tho. And its ok today if u were a bloody duck!! :(

So yeah I feel ur pain! But happy anniversary to you both. Have a lovely time ;) xx

happy anniversary hope you have a lovely night out

i havent bought much maternity stuff either as most of my normal tops still fit if they are longer i bought 3 pairs of trousers one size up that have elastic waists and a pair of cropped jeans one size up (admittedly are getting a tad uncofmortable to wear now) and a pair of casual cargo/linen trousers which are two sizes up

4 days of work left then i think if im not goin out il either be in pj bottoms or just my pants on the bottom (must remeber and close blinds as we stay on a main street lol) xx

Hope you have a lovely evening and I am sure hubby won't mind what you are wearing!

I have a couple of non maternity dresses I can get away with and I bought a stretchy non maternity tiger print dress (which will look great with leggings and big heels - I am going to wear it for my Dad's 60th when I'll be 37w )

I've only really invested in maternity leggings and bras and a few nursing tops? Everything else is my normal size but baggy or the size up!

I found maxi dresses to be a godsend when I was pregnant for any nights out or warm days. I also had a black wrap dress (not maternity) and wore a few short floaty dresses with leggings too. I didn't buy a lot of maternity clothes either cuz didn't see the point, so I improvised quite a lot, but I know what u mean about feeling unattractive! X

I also live in pj pants and vests at home, I must look like a really lazy cow when postman comes to the door but it's amazing how much it frees up the body
One thing that has annoyed me and I'm struggling with is shoes, was living in flip flops as my shoes or wellies don't fit any more, went to a food fair today in the rain in a waterproof and my flip flops, didn't have anything else that fit :(

Happy Anniversary!! And enjoy your night!!

I've only had a few nights out/weddings to attend so I haven't had too much trouble with evening clothes. All I have been buying is leggings and longer vest tops in the next size up. I have just bought a pair of Next maternity jeans from eBay as my normal ones are getting too uncomfy but I did only pay 8 for them including P&P. When the cooler weather comes in it will be leggings and cardigans with a scarf and uggs probably :)
