desperate to lose weight so I wont be confined to a bed.

I am feeling really low. I started slimming world about 9 weeks ago and lost 1stone 2lbs and felt fantastic! Then child tax credits stopped our payments until we fill in a new form. We are currently living on 110 a week and that includes groceries, electric, rent and various other bills. We haven't done a proper healthy shop in two weeks, just Iceland processed foods, dont get me wrong they are yummy and I realise how much I miss them but I've put on nearly a stone, I feel frumpy and moody and just generally sad. I really want to get back on plan to lose 6 stone. When I was in labour with my first DD I was 17 stone with high blood pressure and I wasn't allowed off the bed in labour and I hated it. I felt like I hadnt got the freedom to birth my way. When I was in labour with my second DD I really hoped I would be allowed in the birth pool but no they said I had to stay in bed on the monitor and just didnt feel empowered. This time I want to be really healthy down to 8 stone so I will have low blood pressure and be able to birth my way. It is so hard though as I find it difficult to actually stay on plan. I need support and advice. Thank you for listening to me moan x

I wouldn't worry too much about getting down to 8 stone! That is a lot to lose! I need to lose about 6 stone, but at the mo I'm think if I lose 2/3 I would be so much healthier, so that is my target. Are you able to get in any exercise? I am currently walking 11000 every day, and on 2 days per week trying to 15000. My food isn't 100% but I'm hoping just y having my heartrate up and moving more the weight will come off, and it is at around 1lb per week. I need reminded several times per day that I am trying to lose weight! Usually after I've scoffed cake or something!

Yes I could exercise more but I just can't get motivated. Do you use a step counter? I tried and failed yesterday on my healthy eating plan so take two today. I just feel pretty stressed out and I dont think it helps that I'm a comfort eater. That is a lot of steps you do and how are you losing weight? I just love junk too much x

I feel exactly the same as you. I am an emotional eater too. I can't get motivated most of the time but I try to leave my car at home a bit more, and I was if I can to the shops for the odds and ends we need. I walk in my lunch hour at work. I walk the kids 2 miles each way to the park! And I've just invested in a puppy! We collect him on 6th September, so there's my winter motivation - weather permitting of course he needs to go out, but next summer I will be walking him a couple of miles each day on top of all the other steps. And I use a fitbit, so it counts everything from calories in to calories out, steps, heartrate, sleep! Love it!

Aldi is fab for fruit and veg. They do the super 6 each week 59p each. They also do lots of fresh meat that is prob as cheap as buying processed. I'm a huge fan of aldi an we halved our shopping cost ! Iv found the best excerice for me is walk. I go out every other day with the pram for a hour. You can get apps on your phone that tell you how far you have walked and how many calories you have Burnt. Also have a look on you tube for work out clips. My youngest is 4 and half months and I am 7lb off my pre pregnancy weight. It's really had to get motivated but soon as you start to lose it gets addictive. Stick at it x

I don't mean this rudely but getting down to 8 stone seems like an unrealistic target when your already lacking motivation. I Obviosuly don't know your current weight but what about getting down to 10/11? That's a perfectly healthy weight to give birth at for most women.

I would download a walking app. Map my walk shows how far you've walked with a map and when you do the same walk again tells you if you've done it quicker. Try and do it for enjoyment rather than the exercise. Is a lovely time of year so go and enjoy the fresh air and the first frosts on the ground in the mornings

I don't know what you currently drink but scrap it, set yourself a challenge to just drink water for one week (or water with a slice of FRESH lemon). After that week you'll not want to buy as much pop and juice. I see a lot of drinks as just being empty calories and sugar

Could you go swimming? That's great exercise, take the kids, even having a splash about with them is a little exercise

I can get Iceland meat being garbage but fruit and vegs are not expensive! I also make a vegs sauce, purred with loads of vegs with sieved tomato for pasta and such and just freeze it in portions in freezer bags. Go market for proper meat and freeze that too! Plan meals in advance, freeze left overs!

It's fine to buy frozen fruit, vegs, potatoes ect from the frozen shops if that is what you have to do in regards to your budget.

Sit down proper for your meals, don't eat whilst up and about, take about 25 mins to properly eat your meal this helps with feeling full. Low fat or sugared food is usually full of either sugar or sweeteners.
Fat actually helps feeling nourished for longer and low fats especially are filled with sugar.. Too much sugar is also stored as fat. Balance and variety is key. And don't pressure yourself! It's not too bad weighing 9 st over 8, it's about being more stable, feeling more energised and being healthy!

And where you can walk, just walk with buggy to do shopping or anything when the weather permits you to, just walk!
