Worried about 12 week scan tomorrow

Dec 5th, 2017, 22:39 PM   #1

Hi all,
Weíve got our 12 week scan at 9am tomorrow and the closer itís gotten, the more nervous Iíve become!!
I donít think I would have been worried at all but about 7 weeks in I started reading Motha-Pukkaís baby book, Parenting the Sh*t Out of Life, and in that she wrote about missed miscarriages and how she found out at her 12 week scan that there was no heartbeat.
This is my first pregnancy and I didnít even know missed miscarriage existed before now and I wish I had never read that bloody book, Iím so scared in case thatís what I find out tomorrow morning.
Has anyone else had these worries? Does anyone know if MM is common at all?
Would I have had some sort of signs or feeling that was happening if it were true?
😩😩😩 thank you for any advice or calming words
Xxxxx

I feel the same it's normal to worry about it. Felt the same with dd. Mine is next Thursday and I'm dreading it/excited at the time. It's not that common but still we worry. Fx for you today you'll be fine xx

I felt exactly the same with my first, still remember the moment I lie-down on the chair and was waiting to see the baby, hoping all was OK. I was terrified!!! And I know I'll be exactly the came this time x

Best of luck and let us know how it went xx

Thank you so much all, I felt just like you said, lying down on the bed thing and just waiting to see if anything was there!!!
We have a VERY wriggly, kicking, waving baby in there cooking. Iím actually only 11+1 so need another scan next week so they can do the screening bits that I was too early for today.
So same again next week! I was so happy/surprised to see all of that moving and my partner was so funny, he was absolutely calm about everything from day one and just sort of said Ďof course heís wriggling around, what else were you expecting?!í So after all my stressing I should have taken his relaxed approach 😂
Xx

Yay! Congrats!

I remember with dd I said tell me straight away if you don't have a heartbeat don't mess around. But she had hiccups so the minute they put the ultrasound on I saw her jumping about with hiccups before anyone said anything. It's amazing actually seeing them moving around like that isn't it?

Lovely scans and hey you get to get another! Xx

Thanks so much my symptoms have been quite minimal to be fair so that’s why I was worried things might not be going as planned. The worst symptom I’ve had has been dizziness/head rushes all the bloody time!
I’ve felt sick but never been sick and had slightly sore boobs but less now than they were to start with.
My appetite has been lower so I’ve not really gained any weight, all these things to stress us out! I wish I wasn’t a worrier.
Have you had many symptoms Sarah?

We sounds very much alike.....worriers lol.

I've had sore boobs and I've had a few days where I've felt sick but like you haven't been sick. I had to force breakfast down for a few weeks as I couldn't face it, apart from that I've had nothing else, the odd cramp here and there.

Have you started showing at all yet? I guess if it's your first pregnancy you may not yet, I look at my belly every day lol!
I'm 9+1, 28th December can't come fast enough!

We do sound similar!
I’ve not shown at all yet which is a bit disappointing but I know that sometimes nothing pops until you’re about half way through? I’m pretty tall, 5’8 so I think that means I’m even less likely to show early.
Is this your first Sarah?
We’re keeping it under wraps for another few weeks yet, I have the CUTEST plan to tell our families, we’ve gotten them all Xmas cards that we’re going to put copies of the scan pics in and the cards are all for them as they will be when the baby gets here, aka Mum and dad’s say gran and grandad and my brothers says uncle I literally can’t wait to see their faces!!
