Hello guys! Just a quick panicky question. On Saturday we had family over including 18month old 2nd cousin...and today we just had a phone call from his Mum saying he broke out in Chickenpox!!!! Ive never had them Have rang doctors whos getting back to me, Midwife whos constant answer manchine!!!! Am panicking big style now i have my 1st midwife booking in appt Friday at 10am hopefully this wont be too late for a immunity test. I didnt have skin to skin contact with him, nor did i give him kiss/cuddle goodbye! Could i be ok? xxx

Not sure what the answer is but I am a primary school teacher and the kids are dropping like flies with chicken pox at the moment.

This link might help

Says it's rare to cause any serious damage, so try NOT to panic too much (I know I would be too but...)

i was at the mw the other wk when i lady rang up 2 say she had started getting chicken pox spots and they told her 2 go to a&e i asked the midwife how bad it was she said it depends on what weeks you are when you get them im sure she said 20 to 30 wks is the worse but there is stuff they can give you to help but like i said this lady had started getting the spots already you dont know if you will even get it you mite be ammume to it. My friend got them at 35wks and when into early labour the baby was fine but born with chicken pox bless him. you would start getting spot two after weeks after you seen you cousin my little boy give the to my boy friend last year xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I dunno to be honest hun. But i got my preg confirmed at docs when i was 4 weeks or so and she pushed EVERYTHING inc early scans due to tummy pain and i think it maybe down to her why i got to see Midwife early... Shes always been a good doc to me i was expecting midwife appt at 10weeks maybe so was more than happy when i got my booking in for Friday when ill be 8 weeks and 3days Its actually seeming to fly by now...thankfully!!!! xxx
