Sleeping theory -waiting it out

Oct 25th, 2012, 19:43 PM   #1

I know that there are many different ideas/threads about sleeping issues and to be honest we are still finding our feet with our own little man so i dont have much advice to give. However i have just come across this blog through a friend on facebook and this entry sums up beautifully how i feel about my little one sleeping. Im know its not everyones cup of tea but if it helps just one person i thought it was worth sharing!

That almost bought a tear to my eye! That was so well written and all very true. Phoebe is nearly 11 months old and has never self settled which is constant worry of mine but that really made me feel so much better about it. Thanks for posting that x

that is brilliant. This one sentance is going to be my new mantra........

"You will sleep. Your infancy is the briefest part of the brief time that you are a child in need of my arms"

We 'waited it out' with Jack every night. We have never let him cry himself to sleep. It took 9 months but he now happily goes to bed on his own! We'll do exactly the same with baby too if he needs it x

Omg that is so incredibly beautiful and well written and I can totally relate! I don't agree with letting them 'cry it out' no matter how many people tell me I should do it.
I loved this line...

"I can wait it out so that you don

How lovely! I am currently feeding C as part of a little routine we have going but it is all lead by him. I don't agree in CIO or strict routines.

We had a rubbish night last night up and down every hour. BUT his gorgeous smiles today makes it all so worth it.

I love the dependency and the snuggles. It's such a precious time xx

I actually don't mind when she won't nap without me during the day or wakes up in the night. She's already growing up too quick and I'm making the most of those times where she will actually let me cuddle her cos I know it won't last lol x
