Question

to powder or not to powder?

Nov 13th, 2010, 16:50 PM   #1

just wondering what everyones stance is on using bsby powder? I've never used it on Cahal because I read something about it being dangerous when inhaled. So, do you powder, or not powder?

So I'm not alone then! I told my mum I wasn't using it and she was like whaaaa?!!! Like you say Melio I think it's a bit old school hehe! I've done some more reading since and found that as long as it's not talcum powder then the dangers are reduced, but I still don't like the thought of any kind of powder being inhaled, regardless of which chemicals have been stripped out. Besides, like you say Yodabo, it makes too much mess!

As far as I know they were considered more dangerous when they were talcum powders. I think most baby powders are now based on corn starch rather than talc. Here's a link though, worth a read nonetheless

I think these little things that crop up about being dangerous are so silly! I think it's fine and I'll use it if necessary. I've invested in a tube of liquid talc as I guess that's not as messy x

Was never ever sure whether I should because of this when mine were small, so never used a bottle, actually threw two bottles away in the end we were given. Won't be using this time either. Mind you even if ok, it's a bit excessive, towels will dry baby better and makessuch a mess on the bath rug.
