Hi ladies, just wondering how long it was before you started driving after your sections? And did u have to get the all clear from the GP? Or phone your insurance company? Thanks

I started on my 6 week check with the hv, I didn't have to wait to see the gp or call insurance. You have to do that if you want to drive earlie than the 6 weeks xx

You have to get permission/clearance from your insurance company to drive before 6 weeks or your insurance is void. It's not recommended before 6 weeks anyway x

I spoke with my doctor & insurance company and was driving at 3 weeks. I had a quick recovery from c section though so you need to be able to put your foot on the gears without pain & comfortably. I was also told to start driving during off peak times to start with. My first trip was to tescos at 8pm! This was the advice from my doctor. Check with your insurer I'm with swift cover who advised get clearance with doc xx

I drove 8 days after c-section. Insurance was fine and had staples removed and it was healing well. As long as you can do an emergency stop without damaging yourself you'll be fine.
But everyone recovers at a difference pace so just see how you are. xx
