Moving from cot to bed.

Jan 26th, 2013, 22:55 PM   #1

Hi Everyone

what age did you move your LO from a cot to a bed?
My daughter is almost 2, is still in her cot and has never once tried to climb out of it. Should I be thinking about moving her to a bed any time soon?

Thanks

Rose

We moved her when she was 22 months. The main reason was that her sister was going to be using her cot so we didn't want her to feel pushed out. She moved straight into a proper single bed and she loves it

We moved Ella at just over 18 months because we wanted her settled before her brother arrived. She has a 2ft7 bed because that fits well in the room and we got a low one - when we first put her in we put the cot mattress on the floor in case she fell out which she did a couple of times. She loves her bed though and hasn't looked back x

We moved our eldest around 20 months as we wanted her to settled in her bed before her sister arrived. We moved her to x bed.Theres no rush to move her although you might want to do it before she's 2 and half. You will probably be potty training around then snd our daughter gets up in the night or first thing in the morning to go on her potty without us. Obviously she wouldn't be able to do that in cot.

we moved my stepson from his cot to the bed part of the cot bed his big boy bed when he was about 2.5yrs... he used to move about loads during the night and we were worried he'd fall out.. but once he stopped moving so much it was fine.. we started off putting a kingsize duvet folded up on the floor beside him in case he fell out.. but he never did...
It's his big boy bed... he's nearly 4 now... and that cot bed will be LO's cot so he's got a wee while before he has his own real bed xx

Cam is 25 months and still in his cot. He has never escaped it and is quite small so has lots of room. We have however bought a single.bed. Its in his room and we've.told him he will sleep on it soon, i just don't know when to do it??!?

Thanks for the comments.
I'm going to start looking at bedroom furniture and bedding etc and have her room done shortly then. Ideally i'd like her in a bed before her birthday so i'd better get cracking!

Next have some nice beds...is there anywhere else you think I should check?

My eldest is 26 months and still in his cot bed with his cot sides up. He's never tried to escape and is still big enough so we haven't thought about moving him yet.
