this has been playing on my mind lately, I was just wondering when to expect this ???
As I'm preparing myself for the loud thud when she does

Mine never did! First was never a climber and my second who is a massive climber went in a bed at about 20 months and never did it before then! She was tiny tho so probs would have if she was a bit taller!

I'm actually really surprised E never did it, if you were to look at her now she's the prime candidate for having done it

Knowing how kuch of a minkey e is I would have thought she would have as soon as possible lol....j never did but it was getting to the point he could have had he tried and we had solid wood flooring so we changed his bed tto anticipate it j was about 18 months when we put a mattress on the floor for him, about 20 months when we put a small base undeeneath and 24 months when he now has a full size single bed ....x

My first son was 15mths and it really caught me offguard, but luckily we had a stairgate on. but even then we did hear the big thump as he climbed then fell out. my second and third were then put in a bed at a simular age to prevent this (and we needed the cot back anyway), we used an argos junior low bed, they are stupidly low...and still sell them now, with folded duvet on floor next to it incase of falls. My last Devon only climbed out once at about 20 months ,(only when gate on bedroom was left open nearish the cot, so he was stretching for it I think. It's only been 3-4 mths ish since he went in a bed I think, hes 23 mths now, but's the cot converted into cotbed, with a fluffy rug on floor for falls.

hope that helps

Thank you ladies you have been a real help, she is in her cot which turns into a cot bed I think it will be low enough I also have a spare mattress,
we bought a matress from mothercare a one that will last the life of the cot/cotbed and she wouldnt settle on it so we ended up with a mattress from smyths not the most expensive but she prefers it so when she goes into her bed I shall put that one on the floor But when I think she may climb I shall pull the other one out for a softer landing.

We have a stair gate I always worry if I leave it open.

S never did! she is the worlds biggest climber and hated her cot but never climbed out of it. She is in her bed now at 15 months, its a little toddler bed and she seems to much prefer it!

I think only you know when they are ready.

EVERYBODY said S was too young at 15months, but she hated her cot! She hasn't fallen out at all and has on the whole slept a lot better in her bed!

I'm paranoid mine will try to climb out and I'll hear a horrible thud. He stood up in the travel cot that I use as a playpen the other week and I thought uh-oh!!
I'm so surprised they can go in a bed so early - I'm all excited about that! I've got no clue when it comes to this growing up lark...

everybody told us not to but I'm so glad we did. She hates being contained, By her pushchair (Which we have abandoned) Her highchair (Which she hates) and her cot. So we just got rid of the cot and now she sleeps so mcuh better
