Can't stop crying..

Nov 3rd, 2012, 21:07 PM   #1
My baby is 10 days old and I know hormones are still flying all over the place but the past 3/4 days I keep bursting into tears! Sometimes I literally have no idea why, I'll just have this overwhelming feeling to cry and won't be able to stop myself. I feel so stupid cos I feel like I have nothing to cry about, I have a beautiful baby boy..I should be over the moon!!
My oh has been fantastic and just cuddles me and tells me just to let it out but I feel awful crying all the time! Even just writing this I'm blubbing away!
Does this sound normal still? There's so many stories of post-natal depression and all sorts that I'm worried!

I got hit with baby blues and cried at everything!! I just couldn't help it!! Baby blues is totally normal hun, blub away if you need to.

Have a chat with your MW/ HV if you are struggling though hun.

Tbh, i still tear up alot now and at totally random stuff too. Cried watching Jurassic Park the other day- not really a tear jerker is it!! Lol!!

Hope you feel better soon hun.

i think I cried every day for the first 2 weeks! Someone just needed to ask me how i was feeling and I would burst into tears.

its the lack of sleep, the hormones and the enormity of a new baby that is doing it hun. It will get better, promise!

i think if you get to about 6 weeks and are still crying then you may need to think about PND. Until then, dont worry! x

I still randomly cry 11 months on, which is odd as I was always non-emotional before baby!! X

Exactly how the girls said...I cried multiple times per day the first 2-3 weeks!!
I cried only thinking how beautiful she is, I cried because she was crying, I cried if I was asked how I an doing or I'd my oh cuddled me... Such a mess I was. It does get better. You will start having more good than bad days and then the cloud will disappear...
Hang in there

I'm just about out of the crying stage and Kaiden is nearly 6 weeks. I cried over anything and nothing and not even know what I was crying for! My husband asked me a couple of times if I had PND but I knew I hadn't because I didn't feel particularly down. Xx

I still have a good blub into my coffee 7 months on. Cried yesterday at Muppets from Space . I think before the hormones the last time I had cried was at my aunt's funeral nearly 3 years ago. Hormones suck!

Today I cried because I had to throw away the last bread roll of a batch my dad had made and brought around! I felt so awful that I hadn't eaten it that I burst into tears! I'm sure it'll pass eventually!
