Not sure I trust Superdrug Tests anymore

Jan 12th, 2018, 13:26 PM   #1

So I'm not ttc, only using condoms for protection and I've had really strong pregnancy symptoms this tww. I'm currently 13dpo and af is due tomorrow, so decided to do a Superdrug test this morning and low and behold a lovely pink line. So dipped an frer in the same urine sample, negative Ran out to Asda and got a freedom test and Asda own brands, also both negative. Been to the toilet and had quite a bit of blood after a bowel movement (sorry tmi) but nothing since so fully expecting af tomorrow. Don't think I will be ever buying the Superdrug tests again though.

I’ve seen lots of trouble with those Superdrug tests. I would steer clear of them personally. I think either they are duff or the are too sensitive - lots of people seem to get positives on them but then they don’t turn into proper bfp s or get darker.

Having said that.. out of the picture you’ve posted, I see a vvv faint line on the bottom test and possibly something on the frer. Are you sure on o date? I got a good line on a frer at 12dpo but I know it all depends on what date the thing implanted etc

I see lines on all of them. Many people don't trust the superdrug earlies and say they give false positives but they will only pick up hcg if it's in the system.

When you think that up to 70% of implantations fail, it's easy to see how many of these tests are accurate, but just that the implantation ends up unsuccessful. I liked knowing that I had at least conceived, even when it didn't work, some women prefer not to know.

A little blood doesn't have to mean anything just yet.

Fingers crossed this is the start of better lines for you xx

Yeah I'm pretty sure on my ov date give or take a day, I wasn't tracking as such but I notice the changes in my cm and my periods have come exactly 13 days after I think I've ovulated.

Just had another look at the asda (bottom one) and there is possibly a shadow on it. I've always had bfps by 10dpo so that's why I'm a bit wary this superdrug is accurate. I thought the frer would show up, but that is definitely negative, just the indent line I can see.

Will keep all all updated xx

Hey baby maker, no definitely not told my hubby yet as we aren't trying and I'm not exactly sure where the condoms failed to have even conceived, if they are even lines. Obviously if things progress then yes I will be over the moon but equally petrified. I was even thinking about going on to some other form of contraception as I was thinking I was getting over paranoid about the reliability of just using condoms for the long term.

Don't worry about all the questions, it feels good to let it all out lol so I'm not just sat freaking out at home alone. I don't have a good feeling about it as I'm 13dpo and always had early lines and decent frer tests by now. I have an Asda test and another frer here and I think I can grab some B&M cheapie stripes later before work for tomorrow but I don't know just feel a bit shocked by it all xx

Hey kanga I see lines on them all too! Did you track ov? Could it have been a few days earlier at all?
TMI but did you feel any more wet after any at all?

No I didn't track ov, just go by the signs. I believe ov was cd15, but could have been cd14 or 16. We bd with condoms on cd11, cd12 and cd15. So I can be between 12-14dpo but feel 13dpo is mostly likely with af due tomorrow. I always get lots of fertile cm and it usually starts on cd10 and then it was dry on cd16, didn't notice it get any different after bd xx

Some people have had a good response with Superdrug's tests but I didn't. I got strong positives with only tap water & many positives with my tinkle but absolutely wasn't pregnant (confirmed via blood test).

Honestly I used to love them, but They recalled them and bought them back, ever since Ive had lines on all of them regardless.
I KNEW i wasnt pregnant as I was having a heavy period and I had done two FRER's the day before which was BFN and this is what I got on the superdrug one.
I genuinely hope what ever the result is its what you want, But I think theyre a load of crap xx

I see a line on 1st 2nd and 4th but very light.

I must say I was opposite I got more evaps on a FRER and a positive similar to your one 9dpo. But they are notorious for evaps once removed I think.

PS I fell pregnant in the summer using condoms with no breakages. Ended in MC but I was super shocked.

Is there a chance it could be a chemical?

xxxx
