"Feeling"/"Knowing" you're Pregnant?

Aug 28th, 2017, 23:47 PM   #1

Hi guys,
I'm in my 3rd month of TTC and in the dreaded 2WW. Seen a lot of people talking on here about just 'knowing' they were pregnant...interested to take a little survey on how many people have had that experience?

I've just had 2 months ending in disappointment- each time I was symptom spotting and CONVINCED myself I was pregnant and that the beginning of each AF was really just implantation bleeding (didn't help that the first month, my period was a week late). I was making myself crazy, so this month is dedicated to being optimistically realistic - but I'm interested to know... are there others like me who have really 'felt' pregnant but it turns out that you're not? And if you did 'feel pregnant' and went on to have a BFP...what symptoms did you have? xxx

I have never had that feeling so I'm interested in this too. In fact in all my pregnancies I have been convinced that I wasn't pregnant! X

I definitely had that feeling today to the point I didn't need to do an test but my friend convinced me. I got my BFP.
With my first, I knew the night before I got my BFP - I actually sang a lullaby to my tummy that night. My second we weren't even trying and I had a feeling so bought a test and it was positive.

I didn't get "that" feeling at all. I was only ttc for three months and the first two I symptom spotted but bfn, the third month I went to work the day my period was due thinking ooh it's not started this mornkng maybe I am, I had a really shitty day at work and then got some cramps so came home and had a good cry to oh say in my period was coming soon. woke the next morning to no blood but some cramping and the same the next and while I was sure I wasn't pg I decided to do a test and I was

With my first, I only took a test to prove hubby wrong! We'd not used protection for 22 months, so I put the sickness down to a bug that was going round work, cramps down to AF being on its way and the fact I was around CD40 to another long cycle. I was actually really shocked when the test read 'pregnant'.

This time, I pretty much knew. It was the first time I'd ever used an ovulation stick. My cycles are irregular, so it was the first time I knew for definite that we'd dtd when I ovulated. I had some really strange dizziness about 2dpo and usually my boobs hurt for about 2 weeks before AF comes. This time I had no sore boobs for a whole week and then just my nipples hurt. At 10dpo I had pink spotting and awful cramps and when AF hadn't arrived by the next day, I was pretty sure it was implantation. At this time, I was also starving. I was eating my lunch by 9am at work! When I took my test at 12dpo, I was excited as I was sure I was going to see a BFP and I did.

This is such a good thread!! Love reading the replies!
I'm 4dpo today and just having some ovarian twinges, feel a bit more tired like everything is just so freaking hard to do lol and I'm a little more hungry than usual but all of those could easily be AF symptoms. Ggggrrr trying SO hard not to get ahead of myself, cause the higher you go the further you fall so to speak, that's when the gets brutal

Do you temp track Kat? Is that how you know when you ovulate? I've been using the cheap OPK sticks- but I never get a full positive, but my CM really changes, and on previous cycles, I've used clearblue digitals - which give me good readings - I want to learn how to temp properly, but don't know if it would work properly for me - as I'm a nurse and I work a lot of nights/days/weekends, I don't have a fixed wake up time, sometimes I don't get a proper 4 hour sleep window. I tried a few days at the start of my last cycle, but the temperatures were so wildly variable and I just stopped.

I knew with my second, but only as everything was the same as my first. For a start, both times I felt implantation around 7po, then my boobs killed and I got a raging cold. First time I just brushed it all off, but second time I made sure I had a bottle of wine the day before I tested!

I don't think I knew or had that feeling with either of mine.
My first I walked past the bathroom and had the sudden urge to do a test, it was New Year's Eve and we were heading out to my mums, I wasn't due my period for a week but I HAD to test, BFP .
This time round I took the test cause for a couple of months my period came a few days early, and this time it hadn't. So I tested the day I was due and got a BFP .

I really feel like I am as I've never missed a period before and they're pretty regular but I'm 2 weeks late. Testing tomorrow so I'll report back. Good luck everyone!

I knew the day after my positive opk, so i must of known as soon as conception occurred, the next morning I was ravenous hungry for coco pops, my eyesight was crystal clear and my skin looked amazing. Vivid dreams started including one of me already being pregnant but doing a positive pregnancy test. And at 5dpo I had really sore boobs, positive opk 9dpo, frer positive 11dpo, then nausea came, unfortunately that baby didn't stick. x

Yes, I temp track otherwise I would never know when I ovulate! Heheh. OPKs don't work for me, I never get a + on them and my CM isn't reliable on its own because I get like a little blob of EWCM (which I didn't get this month before O). You can still temp when working shifts, have a look at the Taking Charge of Your Fertility website. They do give advice on temping when doing shifts, especially night shifts like in your case. I know that if you can get at least a solid 3hrs of sleep it's good enough. I temp vaginally and not orally because I sleep with my mouth open.

In June I had a weird sudden Happy feeling one night about 4/5 dpo anf I said to hubby i think I'm pregnant and I was but lost at 4+3. Was weird tho I just knew. This time round I felt like maybe I was pregnant but only cos I noticed a pain one side 6pdo and convinced myself it was implantation and must of been as got a positive from 9dpo. I never had a gut feeling or anything this time just felt like I knew it was digging in lol xx
